Product Development Engineer Role Overview

The Product Development Engineer will be part of the Assay Development NGS team within the Highplex department in Research and Development. The role focuses on contributing to innovations in precision medicine by developing immunoassays for Olink’s Highplex products and evaluating assay performance throughout development projects.

Product development activities are conducted in cross-functional project teams involving members from multiple departments. The team also contributes to research and development of new product concepts and ideas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform laboratory work in accordance with project plans and schedules.
  • Conduct experiments using Olink’s PEA (Proximity Extension Assay) with NGS as the readout platform.
  • Evaluate, report, and document laboratory results according to established procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans.
  • Improve instructions and working methods.
  • Actively participate in departmental development activities and improvement projects.
  • The role involves a combination of laboratory work, activity planning, data analysis, and handling of results and information, with responsibilities varying across project phases.

Requirements for Life Science Job

  • Master’s degree in life sciences or equivalent education.
  • Documented laboratory experience and several years of industry experience.
  • Experience in pipetting small volumes and optimizing methods for pipetting robots.
  • Experience with PSX internal methods such as conjugation, hybbing, pooling, and sorting.
  • Experience handling large volumes of reagents and data.
  • Good general computer skills, including proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset.
  • Proven track record in project execution and delivery.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Self-directed with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; Swedish is an advantage.
