Job Details:
- Job Role: Junior Microbiologist
- Location: Sharnbrook
- Work Type: Full-time (Temporary – 12 Months Maternity Cover)
- Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week (Monday to Friday)
- Work Mode: 4–5 days on-site
- Salary: Up to £43,000 (pro rata, based on experience)
- Facility: Colworth Science Park (R&D Centre)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support microbiological clearance testing of ice cream products in this Junior Microbiologist Job in the UK
- Prepare and maintain microbial cultures for experiments
- Conduct laboratory experiments for microbiological risk assessment at the Magnum Ice Cream Company
- Perform data analysis, visualization, and reporting
- Carry out scientific literature research for food safety and shelf-life
- Maintain high-quality laboratory standards and practices in this Junior Microbiologist Job
- Collaborate with teams to support innovation and product safety
Educational Requirements for this Job:
Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Microbiology, Applied Biology, or related field
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of microbiological techniques and aseptic handling
- Experience working in a microbiology laboratory
- Data analysis and visualization skills (Excel, Power BI)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Problem-solving and adaptability
- Teamwork and the ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
