Molecular Diagnostics R&D Intern Position Overview
Grifols Diagnostic Solutions is seeking a Molecular Diagnostic R&D Intern to join its Molecular Diagnostic R&D team. The intern reports to a Scientist III and contributes to molecular product development projects. Responsibilities include the development, execution, and interpretation of scientific research related to molecular assay and instrument integration, with detailed guidance from a supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities
- Performing minimally complex experiments with input from a supervisor.
- Learning experimental goals and contributing input to experimental design.
- Analyzing and summarizing data from individual experiments with supervisory guidance and documenting work in a laboratory notebook.
- Presenting data in group meetings.
- Assisting with laboratory maintenance duties.
Candidate Profile
The role is intended for individuals in their junior year or those who have recently graduated, majoring in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field. Prior experience with pipetting is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Enrollment in or recent graduation (within 6 months) from a 4-year accredited degree program.
- Pursuing or holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or recently graduated (within 6 months).
- Availability to work full-time hours during the summer.
- Demonstrated efficiency and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Compensation and Additional Information
- Estimated Pay: $20 per hour (California-based role).
- Final compensation depends on education, experience, skill set, knowledge, work location, internal equity, and market data.
