Job Description

Research officer job involves performing virological assays in cell culture for a wide range of RNA pathogens, including influenza viruses, to support ongoing translational antiviral development projects under the STDR program. The role includes developing and working with mouse models to evaluate antiviral strategies, conducting laboratory experiments in vaccine and drug testing, and analyzing data for industry and research collaborations. The candidate will also contribute to the development of engineered defective viral genomes (DVGs) as antiviral therapeutics by assessing their impact on virus replication, optimizing experimental conditions, and validating efficacy in animal models. Additionally, responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, preparing reports for partners, managing daily lab activities, assisting in administrative tasks, mentoring new lab members, and ensuring adherence to laboratory safety practices.

Qualifications
