Research Assistant Job Description
Research assistant job responsibilities involve participating in data collection, uploading, and quality review to ensure completion of research study tasks and database management activities.
The Immunization Project team conducts surveillance for the CDC to identify children presenting to outpatient locations, emergency departments, or inpatient units with respiratory or gastrointestinal symptoms. The team reviews patient lists, identifies eligible participants, obtains consent from parents, administers questionnaires, and collects stool samples or nasal swabs depending on study requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty and research staff to meet project deadlines, support research grant applications, and maintain research data quality.

- Enter additional information into study databases as required.
- Assist with preparation for subject enrollment.

- File completed enrollment and study documents according to Institutional Review Board guidance and federal regulations.
- Complete enrollment paperwork checklists to ensure compliance.
- Compile data into Excel tables and graphs for reports, presentations, grant applications, and final study reports.
- Assist with miscellaneous research-related tasks as requested.
