Life Sciences Research Job Description
The selected candidate for this life sciences research role will join the laboratory at LKCMedicine, focusing on the functional characterization of Parkinson’s disease-associated genes. The role includes both research (bench work) and administrative support, with some experiments conducted at the Genome Institute of Singapore, A*STAR, Biopolis.
Eligibility Criteria
Life Sciences Research Job qualifications include:
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical or Life Sciences with at least 1 year of work experience in a research environment. Recent graduates with relevant internship experience will also be considered.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in research techniques, including routine molecular biology techniques and cell culturing.
- Experience with confocal microscopy and gene editing is advantageous.
- Experience with procurement and administrative work is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.

Life Sciences Research Job – Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research work including cell culturing and maintenance, gene editing, RT-qPCR, Western blot, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, and mass spectrometry.
- Prepare samples for mass spectrometry/lipidomics or transcriptomics analysis.
- Document and report experimental procedures and results accurately, along with optimization and troubleshooting as necessary.
- Coordinate the transfer of cells/samples to and from external collaborators.
- Assist in administrative project support, including budget tracking and procurement of laboratory consumables.
- Provide training and guidance for new staff or interns.
