Biology Research Job Description
The NeuroEpigenomics lab of Dr. Zhuzhu Zhang at the University of Chicago is looking for a highly motivated Research Technologist interested in genomics and neurobiology. Biology Research Job – Key Responsibilities
- Perform genomics experiments, including molecular cloning, sample preparation, and library construction for bulk and single-cell transcriptomics and epigenomics sequencing.
- Maintain detailed lab records and contribute to lab organization and protocol development.
- Assist with tissue culture, mouse surgery, and tissue dissection as needed.
- Provide technical and administrative support for research projects.
- Analyze and maintain data and/or specimens; conduct literature reviews; assist with the preparation of reports and manuscripts.
- Install, set up, and perform experiments while interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
- Perform other related work as needed.
Eligibility Criteria for Biology Research Job
- Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.
- Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through less than 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, neuroscience, or a related field; applicants with MS or PhD degrees are welcome.
- Previous experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or genomics.
