Job Overview

Biognosys, an entity of Bruker Scientific, has established a laboratory in Newton, MA, to provide next-generation proteomics services. The role of Research Associate involves customer sample preparation and HPLC-MS/MS data acquisition, ensuring compliance with Biognosys’ quality standards. This position is crucial for the success of the team, enabling the application of innovative proteomics technology in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.

Job Description

The Research Associate will be responsible for overseeing customer samples throughout their lifecycle, including receipt, storage, tracking, and preparation. The candidate will also perform liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) data acquisition and quality control of generated data, adhering to Biognosys’ standard operating procedures (SOP). This role requires maintenance and troubleshooting of LC-MS instrumentation, as well as documentation of all lab activities.

Research Associate Jobs – Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer samples from receipt to quality control, following Biognosys’ SOP.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot LC-MS instrumentation (timsTOF, EVOQ, Evosep, Elute).
  • Ensure laboratory equipment operates at the highest level.
  • Document all activities in lab notebooks and electronic lab notebooks (ELNs).
  • Contribute to the improvement of sample preparation methods and SOPs.
  • Perform general laboratory tasks, including ordering consumables and preparing buffers.

Eligibility Criteria Reuired For Research Associate Jobs

  • BSc or MSc degree in a relevant scientific field, preferably in biochemistry, molecular biology, or biotechnology.
  • 1-3 years of experience in proteomic and metabolic/lipidomic sample preparation.
  • 1-3 years of laboratory experience handling biological samples, including cell lysates or patient samples.
  • Experience with chromatographic systems (LC or GC) or mass spectrometers is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with working in a GCLP regulated environment is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
  • Well-organized, independent, reliable, and a team player.
  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.

Salary: The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $62,500.00 and $100,000.00, with opportunities for advancement.
