Job Description
As a laboratory associate, the individual will be responsible for performing routine analysis of specimens and documenting results in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulatory guidelines. This role requires evaluating the validity of analytical results against algorithms displayed by the laboratory computer system, identifying and documenting potential performance errors, and escalating unusual results to senior laboratory personnel. The laboratory associate will also prepare buffers and solutions for analysis, support post-analysis sample and reagent storage, and assist in developing new laboratory procedures and techniques.
Laboratory Associate Jobs – Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine analysis of specimens and document results in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Evaluate the validity of analytical results against algorithms displayed by the laboratory computer system.
- Identify and document potential performance errors or unusual results and escalate to senior laboratory personnel.
- Prepare buffers and solutions for analysis, as required.
- Support post-analysis sample and reagent storage.
- Assist in the development and writing of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Maintain good housekeeping of the laboratory environment and support safety, quality, and 6S initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria Required For Laboratory Associate Jobs
- Bachelor’s Degree in biology or 60 semester hour credits at the college level with 24 of those 60 being chemistry and biology related.
- 6 months relevant lab experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Basic knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and applicable regulatory agency standards.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and terminology used in the area of responsibility.
- Other equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

- Basic computer skills and ability to work with laboratory computer systems.
- Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow.
- Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner with cross-functional stakeholders.
