Job Description

The Research Associate will play a crucial role in the JEDSI Lab, focusing on research related to environmental justice, food insecurity, and community resilience. This position involves collaborating with scientists and program managers to publish articles and reports, as well as supervising lab students and managing budgets. The Research Associate will also help organize research convenings and track project progress, contributing to the overarching goals of the initiative.

Research Associate Jobs – Key Responsibilities

  • Carries out research within the scope of established study protocols, adhering to all regulations.
  • Develops criteria for the admission of study subjects based on project goals.
  • Identifies potential funding sources and partnerships.
  • Evaluates project feasibility through analysis of staffing needs and resources.
  • Negotiates contracts with funders and service providers.
  • Develops original IRB submissions and collaborates on major revisions.
  • Creates forms and procedures for data collection and coding.
  • Manages databases and serves as a primary coordinator between various stakeholders.

Eligibility Criteria Required For Research Associate Jobs

Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline and one year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A master’s or doctorate in Environmental Studies, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Conservation, Biology, or Industrial Ecology is strongly preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent advocacy and spatial analysis skills.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis using software such as SPSS or R.
  • Experienced in data visualization techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex processes and projects.

Salary Range: $61,500.00 – $91,875.00

Duration Type: Staff Fixed Duration (Fixed Term)
