Manufacturing Biotechnologist Job Description
This position has overall accountability for completing manufacturing tasks as scheduled while ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Roche’s corporate principles, quality policies, and standards. The manufacturing biotechnologist will support the Biochemical Manufacturing Department by effectively working within the group to meet department goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete assigned tasks, including preparing small equipment, cleaning and sterilizing vessels, and preparing solutions.
- Monitor and operate biochemical processing equipment, raw materials sampling, dispensing, and environmental monitoring sampling.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas while adhering to Safety, cGMP, and Biochemical Manufacturing guidelines.
- Prioritize tasks and document work per approved manufacturing formulae.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process problems, supporting process improvement efforts.
- Operate computers for process control and data entry.
- Participate in staff and shift change meetings, collaborating closely with other shift personnel and external support groups.
- Report safety incidents and near misses in a timely manner and support SHE in incident investigations.
Manufacturing Biotechnologist Eligibility Criteria
- Fresh Graduate with a degree in Life Sciences or Engineering discipline, or Diploma/NITEC or equivalent holders.
- Good problem-solving, interpersonal communication, and teamwork skills.
Required Skills
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in computer operations for data entry and process control.
