Duke Research Associate Jobs: Job Description

The Associate in Research will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) to study molecular mechanisms of human epithelial cancer development. The Associate in Research role involves supporting various research activities, including the development of new small molecule inhibitors for cancer and the advancement of preclinical human cancer models. The selected candidate will engage in tasks that contribute to the mission of enhancing cancer research.

Duke Research Associate Jobs – Key Responsibilities

  • Support research activities under the Principal Investigator’s supervision, performing complex technical duties involved in conducting laboratory tests and experiments.
  • Compile, analyze, document, and draw tentative conclusions from experimental results.
  • Confer with the principal investigator to review work assignments and develop plans for research experiments.
  • Review laboratory methods, scientific journals, and literature for information applicable to research experiments.
  • Conduct wet lab work, general lab management, and rodent colony management.
  • Perform cell culture in vitro studies with cancer cell lines and molecular biology techniques.
  • Execute other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Eligibility Criteria Required For Duke Research Associate Jobs

At a minimum, applicants for this position must have a Master’s degree in Biology or a closely related field.
