Job Description

The Clinical Research Associate job at Thermo Fisher Scientific is open to Level II and above candidates. The organization is hiring in its FSP and FSO teams, with locations available in Porto and Lisbon. Candidates should have at least 2 years of independent monitoring experience. This role involves performing and coordinating various aspects of clinical monitoring and site management processes, ensuring compliance with protocols and regulatory standards.

Eligibility Criteria for Clinical Research Associate job

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences related field or equivalent.
  • Minimal clinical monitoring experience comparable to 2 years in a clinical environment.
  • Valid driver’s license where applicable.

Required Skills

  • Basic medical/therapeutic area knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
  • Ability to maintain a working knowledge of ICH GCPs and applicable regulations.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus.
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills for root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.

Clinical Research Associate job – Key Responsibilities

  • Monitors investigator sites with a risk-based monitoring approach, applying root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving skills to ensure compliance and reduce risks.
  • Ensures data accuracy through SDR, SDV, and CRF review during on-site and remote monitoring activities.
  • Assesses investigational products through physical inventory and records review, documenting observations in a timely manner.
  • Maintains regular contact with investigative sites to confirm protocol adherence and resolve previously identified issues.
  • Conducts monitoring tasks in accordance with the approved monitoring plan.
  • Participates in the investigator payment process and ensures shared responsibility for issue resolution.
  • Investigates and follows up on findings as applicable.
  • Participates in investigator meetings as necessary.
