Laboratory Research Assistant Job Description
The Laboratory Research Assistant (SRA1) will support pancreatic cancer research by assisting with the processing of patient blood samples to isolate DNA for long-read sequencing and PBMCs for immunological and biological analyses. Responsibilities include contributing to recombinant DNA work, assisting with cell culture techniques, managing mouse colonies, and supporting clinical studies related to pancreatic cancer.
Laboratory Research Assistant Key Responsibilities
- Assist with processing patient blood samples and isolating DNA.
- Contribute to recombinant DNA work and genome engineering.
- Perform various cell culture techniques, including flow cytometry.
- Manage mouse colony and perform genotyping using PCR techniques.
- Assist with immunohistochemistry of frozen and fixed tissues.
- Support clinical studies by collecting and entering research data.
- Maintain accurate records of all experiments and assist in data preparation for publication.
- Other duties as assigned.
Eligibility Criteria
- For this research assistant role, candidates need theoretical knowledge of molecular biology, immunology, cell biology, and/or biochemistry.
- Ability to perform blood sample preparations and use laboratory equipment.
- Strong communication skills for professional interaction and documentation.
