Bioinformatics Job Overview
Position will serve as a primary point of contact for urgent operational needs, ensuring the timely delivery of results and directly impacting patient care by reducing turnaround time for clinical sign-out. This individual will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize clinical bioinformatics workflows, maintain infrastructure and server operability, and collaborate closely with laboratory staff, pathologists, and IT teams to support high-quality, high-throughput molecular diagnostics in this Bioinformatics job.
Bioinformatics Job – Key Responsibilities
- Act as the initial point person for daily operational issues affecting clinical assays in this Bioinformatics job.
- Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline, server, and assay-related issues that could delay clinical result delivery.
- Ensure operability of machines, servers, and storage systems integral to clinical bioinformatics workflows.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for internal and external IT ticketing systems, escalating issues as needed.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance turnaround time and result accuracy.
- Collaborate with staff to streamline assay workflows and integrate updated tools.
- Monitor and maintain the laboratory quality control indicators to conform to all accreditation agencies.
- Assist the supervisor in specified activities that ensure laboratory compliance with all accreditation agencies.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required) with Education Specialization: Bioinformatics, Biology or a related field. Equivalent Experience: 1+ years relevant experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, or related fields required. Genomics data analysis experience preferred.
