Job Description
This role offers structured training from the experienced Laboratory Manager, with opportunities to develop into specialist areas such as microbiological testing, laboratory operations, and ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems. The technician will gradually take ownership of the laboratory, contributing to various aspects of microbiological and molecular testing.
Microbiology Laboratory Technician – Key Responsibilities
- Microbiological Testing: Conduct routine microbiological analysis of food supplements, raw materials, and environmental samples.
- Laboratory Operations: Prepare samples for analysis, operate laboratory equipment, and maintain accurate records.
- ISO/IEC 17025 Quality System: Adhere to laboratory procedures and support internal audits and continuous improvement.
- Molecular Biology: Assist with PCR-based testing and microorganism identification.
- Career Progression: Take on greater responsibilities with opportunities for future leadership roles.
Eligibility Criteria Required For Microbiology Laboratory Technician
- An MSc in Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Biological Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
- 1+ years of laboratory experience in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited microbiology laboratory.
- Good practical knowledge of microbiology laboratory equipment.
- Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Hands-on experience with microbiological testing is desirable but not essential.
