Computational Clinical Scientist Job Description
In this role, the Computational Clinical Scientist will work within the Translational Medicine group analyzing and interpreting molecular and clinical data. The analysis will focus on using genomic, protein, and other targeted assays to identify and validate predictive biomarkers. The individual will contribute to various projects in different phases of drug development and collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes other bioinformaticians, program leads, medical monitors, biostatisticians, and other pre-clinical scientists.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate multiple data sources including circulating tumor DNA, patient enrollment data, and molecular profiling.
- Identify and validate new biomarkers for candidate drugs.
- Support the development of biomarker-related aspects of trial design.
- Collaborate with biomarker scientists to analyze biomarker readouts.
- Work with preclinical bioinformaticians to validate biomarkers and understand compound mechanisms of action.
Eligibility Criteria Required For Computational Clinical Scientist
- M.S. or Ph.D. in bioinformatics, biology, data science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech experience in bioinformatics focused on oncology, immunology, or related fields.
- Proficiency in programming using R and/or Python.
- Experience with statistical models and analysis of clinical data.
- Expertise in bioinformatic analysis of cancer signaling pathways and driver mutations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in visualizations and faceting of molecular data.
- Experience with statistical methods such as survival analysis and causal inference.
- Familiarity with large public/private genomic data sets.
- Experience in tools to analyze cancer genomics data types.
Base Pay Salary Range: $132,000 – $166,000 USD
