Research Technician Position Description
The Research Technician position involves assisting scientists with scientific research, development, and clinical tasks of varying complexity. Responsibilities include setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations, and calculating and recording results.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, calibrate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment.
- Prepare supplies and work areas; may be responsible for ordering supplies.
- Conduct standardized biological, microbiological, or biochemical tests and laboratory analyses.
- Analyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of findings.
- Participate in grant application processes and manuscript preparation as required.
- Maintain a detailed notebook of all work-related activities.
- Monitor laboratory work to ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety standards.
- Utilize computers and advanced technology applications to perform work duties.
Eligibility Criteria Required For Research Technician position
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in biology or chemistry, with no prior professional experience necessary. Candidates will learn and apply technical principles, processes, and concepts while following standard practices to analyze situations or data.
