Job description
The successful Research Technician II candidate will perform wet lab activities, proficiently applying advanced molecular biology and biochemistry methods. This is one of the pivotal research jobs where the role involves assisting with group projects aimed at making genomic discoveries that can enhance patient care and outcomes. Research Job – Key Responsibilities
- Utilize standardized laboratory techniques and procedures in cell and molecular biology applications
- Perform routine and specialized histological and immunohistochemical staining
- Tissue processing, embedding & microtomy of clinical tissue
- Maintain, passage, and cryopreserve cell lines and primary cell cultures
- Perform Flow cytometry experiments
- Conduct experiments and analysis; communicate and maintain records of experimental data
- Perform genomics library preparation (RNA, whole genome, exome)
- Process clinical samples
- Contribute to overall operations of labs including managing inventory and space management
- Maintain research notebooks and manage sample data entry
Eligibility Criteria Required For Research Jobs
- Completion of a BSc degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related discipline (MSc degree preferred)
- Two (2) years related experience is required
- Two (2) years of demonstrated research experience is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organization, and ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail and perform multiple concurrent tasks
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Experience with data analysis (GraphPad Prism or R)
- Ability to understand and comply with regulatory issues involving human subjects
- Highly self-motivated
