Laboratory Technician Job Description
This Laboratory Technician Job involves assisting in various areas of laboratory operations for gas and hydrocarbon liquids testing in accordance with the business needs of the Branch and Region, ensuring compliance with the Company’s Quality Management System. Responsibilities include sample management, analytical testing, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Life Sciences Job – Key Responsibilities
- Receive and log samples submitted for testing into the LIMS system.
- Report analytical results to customers and interact with them via email or phone as needed.
- Perform analytical testing (GC, RVP, molecular weight, density, distillation, etc.) according to standardized methodologies (GPA, ASTM).
- Maintain all laboratory equipment in good working condition and perform routine maintenance when required.
- Follow laboratory safety practices diligently.
- Perform general laboratory housekeeping duties and assist with cylinder cleaning and preparation for shipping.
- Demonstrate support for the Company’s Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, and Ethics Policy.
Eligibility Criteria Required For Life Sciences Job
- Experience working in a laboratory setup, preferably with GC instruments.
- College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science.
- Minimum two years of laboratory experience and/or training.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Mathematical skills to perform calculations and interpret technical reports.
- Reasoning ability to interpret a variety of instructions and maintain detailed records.
- Physical capability to meet job demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Salary Range (Hourly): $24.00 – $32.00 per hour
