McGill Research Assistant Job Description
The Research Assistant will join the Nguyen Lab, focusing on the genomic epidemiology of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This McGill Research Assistant Job involves coordinating and executing research workflows, performing molecular biology and microbiology procedures, analyzing genomic data, and maintaining accurate records. The Research Assistant will also communicate results to research collaborators and troubleshoot technical issues across laboratory and computational workflows.
McGill Research Assistant Job Eligibility
Education: Master’s Degree in Molecular biology, microbiology, bioinformatics, or related field.
Work Experience: Experience in microbiology, DNA extraction and sequencing, and genomic data analysis.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of French is required.
- Advanced knowledge of oral and written English is essential for regular contact with researchers.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute end-to-end research workflows, including clinical sample collection and laboratory processing.
- Perform molecular biology and microbiology procedures such as DNA extraction and sequencing.
- Analyze genomic data and develop reproducible computational workflows.
- Integrate laboratory and computational results to generate comprehensive datasets.
- Prepare reports and other research outputs for internal and external use.

Salary: $50,960.00 – $94,658.20 /Year
