Institut Pasteur PhD Position Description
The PhD Position will focus on functional genomics combined with cryo-electron microscopy (single-particle cryoEM and cryoCLEM), in collaboration with the Mattei group at EMBL Heidelberg. The training will encompass genome editing, advanced microscopy techniques, and next-generation sequencing, providing a comprehensive research experience.
Eligibility Criteria
- MSc (or equivalent) in molecular, cellular, structural biology, or biochemistry.
- Prior experience in a research laboratory.
- Experience in malaria research is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate ribosome structure and function in the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum.
- Study the role of variant ribosomal RNAs in parasite development.
- Analyse structural differences among ribosome populations.
- Conduct functional genomics and molecular biology experiments.
- Apply advanced cryo-electron microscopy techniques, including single-particle cryoEM and cryoCLEM.
- Perform research involving genome editing and next-generation sequencing.
