Orion Pharma Research Associate Job Description
The Antibody Purification and Analytics group at Orion Pharma’s R&D UK Centre is integral to the discovery and development of biologics, including multispecific antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). The Research Associate Job will play a key role in establishing and supporting the purification platform, focusing on delivering high-quality materials for downstream analytics and clinical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute purification protocols for recombinant antibodies, antigens, ADC, and CAR-T components using various chromatography techniques.
- Support the development and optimization of purification workflows, including buffer preparation and method troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate experimental records and ensure procedures are up-to-date.
- Perform routine protein quality assessments using SDS-PAGE, UV spectroscopy, HPLC, and other analytical tools.
- Track and analyze experimental data to support decision-making within the purification team.
- Contribute to laboratory maintenance and ensure proper operation of purification equipment.
- Collaborate with colleagues across functions to support project timelines and goals.
- Participate in team meetings, sharing results and contributing ideas for workflow improvements.
- Comply with safety and quality standards, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Eligibility Criteria Required For Research Associate Job
- Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related life science.
- 1–3 years of practical laboratory experience from industry, academic research, or similar.
- Hands-on experience in purification of antibodies and recombinant proteins.
- Familiarity with complex biologics such as bispecific antibodies and ADC constructs is advantageous.
- Understanding of downstream processing principles and interest in process development.
- General knowledge of antibody structure-function relationships is desirable.
- Basic experience with protein characterization techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to follow operating procedures and maintain detailed records.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
