Research Assistant Job Description

The selected candidate will work within a laboratory focused on membrane receptors, particularly G-protein coupled receptors, which are associated with various diseases. This Research Assistant Job involves utilizing interdisciplinary approaches, including cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology to explore the structure and function of these receptors and develop therapeutics for related diseases. The candidate will also learn advanced technologies, including cryo-electron microscopy, and will be expected to perform independent research and present findings at weekly meetings.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences or related field required.
  • A minimum of 0-6 months of experience in lab/research.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of laboratory environment and appropriate procedures
  • Experience in general cell biology and molecular techniques
  • Ability to prepare reagents
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and other related lab software/applications
