Operations Scientist Job Description
Labcorp is seeking an Operations Scientist to join their team in Harrogate. The Operations Scientist role involves laboratory operations and contributes to the company’s mission of enhancing healthcare through advanced diagnostics and innovation.
Eligibility Criteria
- BS in Biology, or a related scientific field.
- Relevant laboratory experience required (2–4 years preferred).
Preferred
- 2-4 years related or relevant laboratory experience.
- Familiar with the use of standard laboratory equipment (e.g., balances, pipettes, centrifuges).
- Experience with analytical instrumentation and LIMS is desired.
- Good communication skills.
Labcorp Operations Scientist – Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and complex laboratory sample analyses following SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, study documentation and QC data.
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Identify technical issues, report deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate workloads and support project planning and execution.
- Ensure laboratory safety and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to SOP development and process improvements.
- Train and mentor junior staff when required.
- Collaborate with research teams and communicate technical findings to clients.
