Associate Scientist Role Description

In this Associate Scientist role, the successful candidate will join the protein sciences team to contribute to protein production and conjugation efforts. The candidate must be independent, goal-oriented, technically competent, and able to efficiently work across multiple projects. This lab-based position requires enthusiasm, innovation, and a strong scientific background in protein purification, bio-conjugation, and analytical techniques.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Biochemistry or related fields.
  • 0–1 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge of bioconjugation and protein analysis techniques.
  • Experience with HPLC, TFF, UV–Vis and chromatography.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and a team player.

Associate Scientist – Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the protein sciences team to deliver and validate proteins and protein conjugates at various production scales.
  • Design, plan, and perform protein conjugation experiments to support in vitro and in vivo evaluations, contributing to project-related scientific activities with some guidance from team members.
  • Support the purification, buffer exchange, characterization, and QC of protein and oligonucleotide conjugates by utilizing UV–Vis spectroscopy and HPLC
  • Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory infrastructure and equipments.
  • Support group organization, productivity, and expertise through collaboration and idea exchange.
  • Assist in optimizing inventory system for proteins and protein conjugates.
  • Meet quality, quantity, and timeline expectations for all assigned projects.
  • Support discovery efforts in protein sciences.
  • Maintain accurate and complete electronic notebook records.
  • Communicate experimental plans and data to multiple cross-functional scientific teams.
