Cedars-Sinai Research Internship Description
The Cedars-Sinai Research Internship allows interns to work up to 40 hours per week on significant research projects while collaborating with experienced professionals. Interns will develop essential research skills and gain exposure to various aspects of basic, translational, and clinical research. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of healthcare research careers.
Eligibility Criteria
- Available to work up to 40 hours per week during the internship.
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in a STEM degree program with senior-year standing or have completed a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field within the past 12 months.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or related field, including a minimum of two years of lab coursework.
Base Pay: $25 – $26.82
Cedars-Sinai Research Internship – Key Responsibilities
- Receive training on using machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques for processing medical data, including CT, MRI, and electronic health records (EHR).
- Receive instruction and training in basic, translational, and clinical research.
- Receive orientation to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and other Human Subjects Courses.
- Shadow staff and gain exposure to a variety of scientific procedures and techniques.
- Support research data collection, data entry, literature searches, and basic patient screening tasks.
- Assist staff in maintaining accurate project records of experiments and results.
- May assist with the operation and maintenance of lab equipment.
- Observe and comply with safety standards and procedures.
