Job Description
The NAMSA Microbiology Technologist will perform routine test article/product preparation and execute routine testing while adhering to NAMSA SOPs and work instructions. Responsibilities include accurately collecting and recording raw data, checking laboratory equipment, and responding to continuous monitoring alarms as necessary. The role may also involve performing specific testing and operating laboratory equipment, as well as conducting environmental monitoring and cleaning and disinfecting cleanroom suites.
Microbiology Job – Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine test article/product preparation and testing.
- Accurately collect and record raw data in logbooks and worksheets.
- Check laboratory equipment and respond to monitoring alarms.
- Perform required specific testing as applicable.
- Operate specified laboratory equipment.
- Conduct environmental monitoring and cleanroom disinfection.
Qualifications & Technical Competencies Required For Microbiology Job:
- High School diploma or equivalent required and at least 2 years of experience, or Bachelor degree and no experience
- Sound judgment with effective decision making skills and the ability to solve problems or escalate as needed
- Awareness of applicable guidelines and regulations including, but not limited to USP, ISO, CTFA, FSA.
- Knowledge of metric system, NAMSA GLP and/or GMP testing, scientific applications, experimental design, and data evaluation.
- Ability to work in GLP/GMP environment
- Experience: Bachelor’s degree with no experience, or high school diploma with 2 years’ experience
