Job Summary
The Quality Control Scientist will be responsible for running routine molecular biology-based assays in the Quality Control department. This role involves testing products before they are released for sale by following standardized procedures to ensure product quality. The position is primarily laboratory-based with additional tasks such as report writing, archiving, and supporting validation processes.
Key Duties
- Perform quality control, in-process control, and special QC testing of Meridianโs products
- Assess testing results and confirm compliance with acceptance criteria
- Prepare QC reports and other quality control-related documents
- Maintain accurate records according to SOPs
- Participate in the development and updating of required quality control documents
- Prepare reagents and solutions necessary for laboratory procedures
- Support the transfer of analytical procedures and validation programs
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance and calibration
- Contribute to general laboratory organization and maintenance
- Support consumables and inventory management for the QC department
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives as a team player
Qualifications
- Minimum: Master’s in Molecular Biology or equivalent in Life Science
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in qPCR, endpoint PCR assays, and isothermal amplification
- Good understanding of analytical methods in molecular biology
- Proficiency in safe handling of chemicals and reagents
- Organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and computer skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in a controlled environment, preferably under ISO 13485
- Fluency in written and spoken English; German proficiency is a plus
