Job Summary and Qualifications
- Perform specimen processing, microbiology, serology, and infectious disease testing independently.
- Assure timely and compliant specimen processing and testing.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Apply laboratory medicine concepts and problem-solving skills.
- Ensure the accuracy of test results and the performance of equipment.
- Adhere to quality control and assurance requirements.
- Act as a resource to peers and customers.
- Assist in personnel orientation, training, and competency documentation.
You Should Have:
- Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry preferred.
- National Certification as a Microbiology Technologist is required.
- State license where required.
- Thorough knowledge of laboratory methods, microbiology, serology, and infectious disease processes.
- General knowledge of laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and effective teamwork.
- Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively.
