Educational Requirements for the Scientist Role:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Medical Technology, or a related biological/chemical science
  • 1โ€“2 years of experience in an analytical laboratory setting
  • Preferred: Experience reviewing mass spectrometry data (LC/MS/MS or GC/MS) in a toxicology lab

What Youโ€™ll Work On:

  • In this Biological Science Job, you will perform laboratory tests in accordance with laboratory standard procedures.
  • Review and certify forensic toxicology test results.
  • Document calibration and quality control results for forensic test data.
  • For this Scientist Role, you will provide assistance, training and support for laboratory technicians.
  • Reorder lab supplies, reagents, or consumables as authorized.
  • Follow all new and revised lab procedures as directed by the Department Manager, General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, or Lab Director.
  • Perform all other duties as may be requested by the Department Manager, General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, or Lab Director.

Preferred Qualifications for the Scientist Role:

  • Experience reviewing mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS and/or GC/MS) data within a toxicology laboratory setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
  • Must possess strong work ethic with commitment to safety, compliance, and quality
