Responsibilities for the Research Job:
- Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
- Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
- Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel.
- Performs support functions in cell line generation and cell-based assays.
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required.
- May be required to work Holidays and weekends.
- May be required to work Overtime.
- Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.
- Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
- May be required to assist in other departments.
Qualifications Required for the Research Job:
- Ability to perform routine work following SOPs with minimum supervision.
- Deep understanding of molecular biology and cell biology and proved hand-on experience in mammalian cell culture and other standard molecular and cellular techniques.
- Good communication skills to work with different equipment vendors and technical support team.
- Ability to learn quickly to master the operation and general maintenance of major instruments.
- Detail-oriented, good at multitasking and ability to work with multiple teams.
Education / Experience Required for the Research Job:
- Masterโs degree in Molecular and Cell Biology with 1-2 years of relevant work experience or BS in Biology or related field with 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of complex scientific procedures with technical proficiency in molecular and cell biology.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills to seamlessly fit within a teamwork driven environment.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills.
- Need to be able to read, write and understand English.
- Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new skills quickly.
Physical Requirements for the Research Job:
- Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions.
- Must be able to work in Lab setting with exposure to Animals/biohazards/Chemicals.
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE.
- Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels.
- Ability to stand/Sit/walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to Lift 10 lbs routinely.
- Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach.
- Ability to push/pull 10 lbs routinely/often/occasionally.
- Clarity of Vision.
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motions.
- Ability to climb Ladders/Stairs/Scaffolding.
- Ability to work in variable temperatures high to freezing.
