CRA Job Description

CRA job roles are highly valuable for candidates seeking a life sciences job in clinical research and healthcare studies. The Clinical Research Assistant performs a variety of research, data, and clerical duties of a routine and technical nature to support the conduct of clinical research under the direction of senior research team members. The selected candidate will develop progressive functional knowledge of:

  • Office of Human Research Protections (OHRP) regulations
  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations

The Clinical Research Assistant will support participant identification, prepare research documentation and supplies, conduct protocol-specific interviews and testing, and assist with study management activities according to study protocols and SOPs.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • BS degree in a science, health-related field, or another applicable discipline

Minimum Work Experience

  • 0 years of experience required
  • Experience in a medical or scientific research setting preferred

Key Responsibilities – CRA Job

CRA Job responsibilities include:

  • Support clinical research activities under the guidance of senior research team members
  • Identify eligible research participants according to study protocols
  • Assist with participant screening and enrollment procedures
  • Prepare research documents, laboratory kits, equipment, and study supplies
  • Conduct protocol-specific testing, interviews, and participant visits
  • Maintain accurate study records, participant logs, and regulatory documents
  • Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP), FDA, and OHRP regulations
  • Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and documentation
  • Record participant visits in designated tracking systems
  • Collect, label, store, and ship research specimens as required
  • Ensure accurate and complete data collection following ALCOAC principles
  • Resolve sponsor and institutional data queries within timelines
  • Maintain confidentiality of participant and research data
  • Coordinate with research staff, investigators, and clinical teams
  • Attend study meetings and research-related discussions as required
  • Monitor study timelines and anticipate research needs proactively
  • Communicate effectively with participants, families, and team members
  • Follow institutional Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and study protocols
  • Promote workplace, patient, and participant safety at all times
  • Contribute to process improvement and efficient resource utilization
