Oncology Job Description
Oncology job seekers looking to work in cancer therapeutics research will find this opportunity highly rewarding. PerkinElmer is seeking a highly motivated Research Specialist to join the growing Oncology, Extracellular Targeted Cancer Therapeutics (ETCT) team.
The successful candidate will perform standardized, protocol-driven laboratory work, including flow cytometry, mammalian cell culture maintenance, protein isolation, reagent stocking, and other research activities. Training will be provided to help the selected candidate grow into an independent laboratory contributor. This role involves working in a matrix-based, collaborative, and fast-paced environment supporting diverse biotherapeutic programs across the organization.
Qualifications
Basic
Oncology Job candidates should possess:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or related fields.
- Laboratory research experience in a scientific laboratory environment.
- 2–3 years of technical expertise in Cell culture, General laboratory instrumentation, Cell-based assays
- Experience with Flow Cytometry, Mammalian Cell Culture, Cell Proliferation Assays, DNA/RNA Isolation, Transduction, Transfection
Preferred
Oncology Job candidates with the following experience will be highly preferred:
- Previous experience in biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical drug discovery.
- Ability to work independently and deliver consistent, high-quality results.
- Experience with Immune cell handling, CellTiter Glo, Caspase Glo, Incucyte, MSD Western Blot, Jess, Li-Cor, BacMam, Lentivirus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project timelines.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex scientific data.
- Experience designing and executing new and established methods and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Oncology job responsibilities within this role include:
- Provide high-quality laboratory support to the ETCT team.
- Support multiple ongoing large-scale cell-based projects critical to departmental success.
- Perform laboratory work involving Flow cytometry, Mammalian cell culturing, Cell proliferation assays, Protein isolation, Viral transduction
- Generate and analyze data while maintaining the highest Data Integrity standards.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and robotics, including liquid sample handling platforms.
- Contribute to technological improvements that increase productivity and cost efficiency.
- Support data reporting, management, and collaboration with project teams.
- Develop organizational skills, presentation skills, and attention to detail.
- Interact with senior scientific staff as required.
- Ensure compliance with R&D data integrity practices, ethics standards, safety requirements, and training protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
