QC Scientist Job Description
QC Scientist Job responsibilities at Catalent involve supporting Quality Control laboratory operations and sample management activities within a cGMP-regulated environment.
The Scientist I – Quality Control, Sample Management will support management and oversight of samples related to manufacturing, stability programs, and method validation activities. The role also includes management of stability chambers and oversight of laboratory critical reagents while ensuring compliance with established quality standards.
Required Qualifications
QC Scientist Job candidates should have:
- Master’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or a related Life Sciences field; OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of industry experience; OR
- Associate degree with 6+ years of industry experience; OR
- High school diploma/equivalent with 7+ years of industry experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry and laboratory equipment.
- Familiarity with cleanroom procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Understanding of cGMP, GDP, and GLP requirements.
- Experience following SOPs and laboratory documentation practices.
- Hands-on experience with general lab equipment, including micropipettes.
QC Scientist Job – Key Responsibilities
QC Scientist Job duties include:
- Independently execute and properly document cGMP Quality Control testing.
- Independently operate basic and moderately complex cGMP Quality Control equipment.
- Assist in authoring technical documents such as SOPs and reports.
- Perform self-review of analytical data for accuracy and consistency with SOP requirements.
- Enter data into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) or laboratory reports.
- Perform general laboratory housekeeping in adherence to 5S standards.
- Initiate and assist with records in TrackWise.
- Accurately complete routine and preventive maintenance on basic to moderately complex equipment.
- Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Support all other assigned laboratory and quality control activities.
