Biotech Lab Technician Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks that include:

• Preparing samples (manual and robotic) for storage, distribution, and/or shipment per biorepository standard operating procedures (SOP).
• Tracking specimens and entering data for sample processing.
• Reviewing sample reports and identifying specimens requiring additional handling and processing.
• Maintaining accurate documentation of sample collection, processing, storage conditions, and chain of custody records.
• Collaborating with study principal investigators (PI) and study coordinators to develop laboratory flow diagrams to comply with study specifications.
• Validating new equipment and maintaining repository-specific equipment.
• Contributing to efficient lab workflow, process improvements, and compliance with quality standards.

EDUCATION

• Required: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in biology, or biotechnology).
• Preferred: Master’s degree (preferably in biology, or biotechnology).
