Position Summary

The Research Associate I will be a vital part of the Process and Analytical team at ImmunityBio, focusing on supporting adoptive cell therapy projects. This role involves developing and transferring robust analytical test methods for cell therapy initiatives, ensuring laboratory operations are efficient, and performing data analysis using statistical tools.

Research Associate Jobs – Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with analytical assays including cell health assays, biochemical assays, Mycoplasma testing, Endotoxin, and ELISAs as needed.
  • Conduct immunological assays (plate-based and/or flow cytometry) to characterize NK cells.
  • Perform cell culture activities to maintain effector and target cells.
  • Assist in performing immunogenicity assays using various platforms (ELISA, MSD) and T-cell assays (Proliferation assays, ELISpot).
  • Generate and organize analytical data using software like Excel and JMP for data trending.
  • Support clinical data integrity and regulatory compliance by maintaining thorough records on data-related activities.
  • Analyze and document experimental data in laboratory notebooks accurately and timely.
  • Perform general lab duties to ensure safe and efficient operations as required.

Eligibility Criteria Required For Research Associate Jobs

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or biomedical engineering with 1+ years of experience in a research lab setting required; or
  • Master’s degree in biological sciences or biomedical engineering required.
  • Previous training in handling and maintaining mammalian cell culture in a BSL2 laboratory is a plus.
  • Previous training in data analysis is a plus.

Required Skills

  • Basic aseptic/sterile techniques and prior laboratory experience preferred.
  • Competency in computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated, team player willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of the initial job description.
  • Attention to detail, quick learner, and organized.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction.
  • Proven ability to be highly productive in a high-paced work environment.

This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity award. The annual base pay range for this position is $71,000 (entry-level qualifications) to $78,000 (highly experienced) annually.
