Qualifications for AbbVie Biology Job
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in Biology or related field of study
Adept in aseptic work and basic cell culture techniques - Experience in protein expression from mammalian, E. coli, and insect cell culture
- Basic knowledge of molecular biology techniques
- Candidates applying for AbbVie Biology Job requires Basic biochemistry skills such as SDS-PAGE, western blot, immunoprecipitation
- Strong laboratory skills, effective documentation skills, and the ability to recognize and report experimental variances
- Experience with protein analysis i.e. SDS-PAGE, western blot, and analytic SEC
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and the willingness to work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists in a fast-paced environment are essential

Global Protein Sciences (GPS) is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join the Protein Expression/Scale-up Group at the AbbVie Bioresearch Center in Worcester, MA. As a member of the group, the candidate will be responsible for the expression of protein reagents critical to advance the discovery pipeline using various expression systems. The successful candidate will have experience in cell culture, protein expression and basic biochemistry/molecular biology. He/she will work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment and will interface with all GPS functions as well as with project team members. The successful candidate will also perform a literature review as well as developing and optimizing expression methods. Excellent communication skills are essential. Protein purification experience is a plus.
