ROLE PURPOSE:

This position is for a Senior Food Scientist on the Food Science and Technology Team focusing on food quality standards/testing and commercialization of ready to eat food.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Amazon Food Science Job
The Senior Food Scientist will be a member of the Food Science and Technology team supporting various food categories including Ready to Eat (RTE), Ready to Heat (RTH) and Ready to Cook (RTC). Knowledge of food processing, food quality standards, shelf-life testing and microbiological/analytical testing is critical to success in this role.
· Creates and maintains quality standards for food ingredients and finished goods.
· Conducts test batches and leads Commercialization efforts in the scale-up process
· Collaborates with a cross-functional team including marketing, packaging, food safety, legal and finance.
· Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and adhere to fast timelines.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Amazon Food Science Job
-  M.S. in Food Science with 5-7 years’ experience with a focus in Food Microbiology/Food Quality preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in food formulation and processing across multiple food application categories
- Knowledge of food safety and quality microbiological testing protocol and ability to evaluate compliance to established standards.
- Â Experience in a production environment including scale-up from benchtop to commercial scale.
- Amazon Food Science Job Familiarity with multiple production technologies and the formulation challenges associated with each.
- Â Demonstrated project management skills to include stage-gate processes, cross-functional leadership and adherence and delivery to tight timelines.
- Â Familiarity with shelf life testing protocol and the ability to grow/improve the existing system.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills to include project summaries, technical updates as well as the ability to convey food science/technical information to non-technical partners.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Amazon Food Science Job
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM systems) desired.
- Preference for experience with Fresh/RTE food.
