Job Description

The Associate Scientist I will participate in the day-to-day research activities of the company, which include designing, executing, and interpreting scientific experiments, as well as developing assays based on Luminex’s technology platform. This position requires the ability to conduct scientific experiments independently while receiving supervision from senior team members.

Associate Scientist Jobs – Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct day-to-day laboratory work, including generating, recording, and analyzing experimental data while maintaining laboratory notebooks.
  • Assemble and present data to departmental, project, and cross-site teams as needed.
  • Contribute to writing protocols and reports related to the feasibility, verification, and validation of molecular tests under quality system requirements.
  • Collaborate with other functional groups, such as Clinical Affairs, Design Transfer, Manufacturing, and Quality Control, regarding project priorities and timelines.
  • Assist in the development of intellectual property.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Design Control regulations and standards.
  • Troubleshoot technical difficulties as required.
  • Participate in maintaining general laboratory organization.

Eligibility Criteria Required For Associate Scientist Jobs

  • Associate’s Degree in biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, or a related scientific field with at least 2 years of laboratory experience in molecular biology or biotechnology.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in biological/chemical or related scientific disciplines preferred, with no relevant experience required.
  • 1+ years of expertise in various molecular and biochemical laboratory procedures.
  • 1+ years of knowledge of routine laboratory methods such as PCR, data analyses, and specimen handling.
  • 1+ years of working knowledge or experience with ISO 13485:2016 standards and FDA regulations preferred.
  • 1+ years of prior experience in the medical device industry preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of Design Control requirements as defined by FDA Quality System guidelines.
  • Mathematics and statistical aptitude.
  • Data analysis and technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organized with strong time management and prioritization skills.
