About the Position
Reporting to the Senior Scientist, Preclinical Research, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Associate Scientist to join our preclinical research team. The successful candidate will contribute to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics through various cell-based assays and other in vitro and ex vivo based assays. This role will also involve cell line generation and maintenance to support the Cellular Immunology team. Join us and have the opportunity to make an impact in multiple areas within Cabaletta.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and well-organized records and electronic laboratory notebook.
- Perform lab tasks following cGLP and Cabaletta Bio lab safety policies and SOPs.
- Contribute to process improvements and the implementation of new technologies.
- Manage multiple internal projects and collaborations with external vendors.
- Maintain and expand various cell lines.
- Generate cell lines using lentivirus technology for suspension cell lines.
- Perform cytotoxicity and flow cytometry assays.
Qualifications
- MS degree in Biology or Bioengineering (or related field) with 2+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience in the biotechnology industry. Ph.D. candidates will also be considered.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques and human tissue handling.
- Experience in mammalian cell culture and cell husbandry, including maintaining cell culture, media preparation, and cell banking.
- Preferred experience in primary cell and iPSC derived cell culture.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Flexibility to learn new techniques and collaborate across different areas.
- Team-oriented mindset and passion for self-development.
- Industry or startup experience preferred.
