About the Job:
Are you a curious scientist with skills in cell biology and a passion for working with various cell types for drug discovery? AstraZeneca is looking for an engaged and passionate individual to join as a Research Scientist in Gothenburg, Sweden. In this role, you will be a part of the Global Cell Bank Department within Discovery Sciences, supporting early drug discovery projects by providing essential cellular reagents for the development of new targets and medicines.
Responsibilities:
- Expand and bank a variety of cell lines using best practice aseptic techniques
- Ensure highest quality of cell lines through QC testing
- Contribute to the design and implementation of work-plans
- Be a proactive member of cross-functional drug discovery project teams
- Enhance scientific visibility through presentations and publications
Essentials for the Role:
- MSc or equivalent degree in Biology, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, or related discipline
- Expertise in various cell culturing methods and cryopreservation
- Experience in handling large-scale expansion and banking of cell lines
- Knowledge of cell line quality control methods
- Ability to prepare various cell reagents
Desirable Skills:
- Hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques
- Knowledge of cellular biology techniques for developing assays
- Experience with human biological samples
