Avian Disease Ecology Research Team at Harvey Lab – Apply Now!
Welcome to Harvey Lab: Pioneering Avian Disease Ecology Research
Harvey Lab focuses on studying avian disease ecology, researching evolutionary mechanisms involved in immune response and drivers of emerging diseases impacting wildlife populations. Our mission is to inform conservation management strategies by gaining insights into disease impacts and population dynamics in the wild.
Join Our Team at Harvey Lab
We are currently looking to recruit passionate PhD students and postdocs for Fall 2025 to contribute to our ongoing research in disease ecology evolution, virology, parasitology, population impacts, conservation, and transcriptomics.
What We Study:
- Understand the evolutionary mechanisms involved in immune response (immunogenetics) in the wild
- Understand drivers of emerging disease on wildlife declines and inform conservation management
What Will You Gain:
- Opportunity to become an independent researcher while collaborating with a team
- Hands-on experience in fieldwork, molecular lab work, bioinformatics, conservation, and management
If you are passionate about contributing to avian disease ecology research, we invite you to apply and be a part of our dedicated team!
How to Apply:
Potential PhD students should email Dr. Harvey with your research project ideas of interest. Interested postdocs should email Dr. Harvey a CV, cover letter, and your research project of interest (~1pg).
