Azenta Laboratory Technician Job Description
Laboratory Technician I is an entry-level position. The Overnight Sequencing department handles Whole Plasmid Sequencing. The department strictly follows SOPs and focuses on sorting and processing hundreds of customer samples per day. Processing includes preparing the samples further, purification, and loading the samples onto sequencing machines.
The work is hands-on laboratory production in a genomics service environment rather than a desk or sales role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process samples for overnight sequencing production.
- Follow laboratory SOPs.
- Communicate with internal teams by email/phone in a professional manner.
- Prepare and save documentation.
- Help keep the sequencing production line moving on the assigned shift.
Azenta Laboratory Technician Eligibility Criteria
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: About 1+ years of laboratory work preferred. Prior production experience in any industry is also preferred.
Freshers with strong lab coursework may be competitive where 1+ years is only preferred. Freshers eligible.
Required Skills
- Fine motor skills for sample handling.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office tools.
- Flexibility for business demand.
- LIMS experience is a plus.
