Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Protein engineering or similar fields with a minimum of 1+ years postdoctoral or industry experience, including exposure to next-generation DNA sequencing workflows.
- Track record of strong problem-solving skills through experimental design, execution and analysis of experiments on aggressive schedules in a rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, logical and analytical thinking, ability to multitask, work independently and on a team.
- Experience with protein expression and purification (5) Experience in creating and optimizing a variety of NGS sample preparation workflows and analysis is desired.
Responsibilities
- Develop novel assays using molecular biology techniques for applications in single-cell profiling. Establish robust, customer-facing workflows that meet product requirements.
- Perform protein engineering, purification, and enzymatic characterization.
- Develop a deep understanding of the interplay between biochemistry, molecular biology, and microfluidics to identify the root cause of product deviations, troubleshoot them, and identify robust solutions.
- Work closely with computational biologists to interpret data generated by novel and optimized assay schemes.
- Lead the design, plan, and development of product specifications and quality metrics to deliver optimum product performance. Work within multi-disciplinary teams at all stages of product development: Execute experiments, perform in-depth analysis and report data through documentation and presentation.
