The Opportunity
This Advanced Research Associate position, located in Waltham, MA, offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of next generation sequencing (NGS) for biofluid-based exosome assays. What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate NGS libraries for sequencing of RNA and cell-free DNA.
- Develop work routines including automation and standard operating procedures.
- Support in-house development of NGS assays that could be validated in CLIA setting.
- Support custom projects for biomarker discovery.
- Report and document results and progress to colleagues, clients and for IP.
- Contribute and write experimental plans, protocols, SOPs, and reports.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
BS/MS in life sciences with 3+ years of experience in a molecular biology laboratory, NGS core facility, or a medical testing lab, preferably in biotech industry. 2+ years of hands-on experience in Next Generation Sequencing library construction. Familiarity with commercially available NGS kits for targeted and non-targeted RNA & DNA sequencing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experienced with a variety of molecular biology techniques including nucleic acid extraction, amplification, and detection.
- Strong project management abilities to prioritize and schedule multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent communication skills and can implement technologies developed from R&D into a CLIA and/or FDA-regulated environment.
