Internship – Rochester, New York

International Flavors and Fragrances Inc. is an industry leader in taste, scent and nutrition. This position is located within our global Bioanalytical team which focuses on QA/QC of enzymes and proteins. IFF is seeking innovative, collaborative college students to participate in our summer 2022 internship program at our Flavors site in Rochester, New York. IFF interns will have the opportunity to gain hands-on working experience while strengthening their professional skillset.

As a 2022 intern, you will spend your time…

• Daily Lab Duties – Equipment start-up/calibrations/maintenance, refrigerator and freezer temperatures, stocking of lab supplies, blue shelving maintenance, package shipping and receiving, wash/put away lab glassware/dishware
• Standard and Control Program – Keep working vials of ‘in-house’ inventory stocked, aliquot and label newly formulated standard and control materials, shipping of standard and control materials to sites, organize outside freezer inventory, lyophilizing Arch standards
• General Lab – Make buffers and other reagents, assist in any assay work that as needed (gels, activity methods, etc.), aliquot necessary gel reference materials

Job Requirements

About You…

To be successful in this role you must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) from June 6, 2022 – August 26, 2022. We are looking for someone who is currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree. Those pursuing a degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, biology, chemistry or any field related are preferred. Other skills we are looking for include:
