Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Bioinformatics Analyst at NYU Langone Health. The Imielinski Lab at the Perlmutter Cancer Center is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist in genome analysis, algorithm development, and cutting-edge cancer research.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing concise presentations of computational results.
- Work with the cancer genomics team to integrate different types of genomics data.
- Adapt genomic data analysis pipelines in a rapidly evolving research environment.
- Assist in the design, implementation, and execution of novel algorithms and standard pipelines for genomics data analyses.
- Perform data quality control and validation.
- Develop expertise in various types of sequencing data analysis.
- Collaborate with bench scientists to achieve research goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in mathematics, biological sciences, computer science, or related disciplines.
- Experience in Unix/Linux systems and scripting languages.
- Proficiency in statistical packages such as R or Matlab.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
