Biology Internship Description

Regeneron is seeking multiple interns for its QC Laboratory Sciences teams, including QC Analytical Sciences and QC Technical Resources. Interns will support projects involving test method development, method improvement, instrument evaluation, automation, and data analysis.

Most assignments combine hands-on laboratory work with data analysis. Many also involve preparing a study plan and writing a technical report, with specific activities depending on the assigned project.

Biology Internship – Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and improvement of laboratory methods used to test biological medicines.
  • Work on assays assessing potency, purity, and safety, using techniques relevant to the assigned project.
  • Evaluate instruments and compare new testing methods with existing approaches.
  • Support laboratory automation and digitization using liquid-handling robots.
  • Analyze data to identify patterns and opportunities for method improvement.
  • Assist with assay development for new molecules or cell and gene therapy programs, where applicable.
  • Investigate how stability conditions or cell culture practices affect assay results.
  • Prepare study plans, document findings, and contribute to technical reports.

Laboratory Techniques and Project Exposure

Projects may involve ELISA, qPCR, next-generation sequencing, electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, iCIEF, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, FT-IR spectroscopy, or cell-based potency assays.

Microbiology-focused assignments may include bioburden, endotoxin, and rapid microbial testing. Exposure will depend on the project.

Educational Requirements and Eligibility

Applicants must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an undergraduate or graduate degree program and either return to school in the semester following the internship or graduate after the position. Relevant majors include Biology or Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering

A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
