Job Description
The Medical Laboratory Assistant will assist laboratory staff with preparation work for tests, prepare and use equipment as directed, receive and record specimens, file and store samples, dispatch specimens and reports, manage laboratory waste, clean laboratory equipment, monitor supply stocks, assist with filing, take and record phone messages, and enter data into the laboratory/hospital computer system. Medical Laboratory Assistant Job Responsibilities
- Assist laboratory staff with the preparation work for tests.
- Prepare and use equipment as directed by appropriate scientific/technical laboratory staff.

- File and store samples as required and maintain records.
- Dispatch and deliver specimens, reports, and samples as required.
- Prepare, collect, and dispose of laboratory waste, excess tissue, etc.
